About
London Borough of Havering awarded a contract to Lifeline Community Projects for mentoring services targeting young people aged 11-25 at risk of gang affiliation and vulnerable to gang exploitation, including those not necessarily involved in criminal activity.
The service supports a cohort identified as regularly missing, arrested without conviction but open to Early Help/YJ/Probation Services, excluded from education, linked to gangs, emerging groups, and county lines, weapon carriers, and engaged in violence.
The contract, valued at £318,228, aims to reduce risk and vulnerability among the cohort by increasing ETE, engagement, preventing escalation to conviction, and reducing the volume and severity of criminal behaviour.
