Birmingham City Council awarded a contract to ENIGMA CONSULTANCY COACHING SERVICES LTD, Golden Ethics, Merida Associates, and OrbitaCX Limited trading as Insight Now for qualitative research involving 15 focus groups on seldom-heard conversations about pregnancy.

The contract, valued at £22,000, ran from 16 November 2020 to 30 June 2021.

The research aimed to engage stakeholders such as Children Centres, voluntary sector organisations supporting families and ethnic groups, and Birmingham First Steps.

Providers were required to recruit participants, ensure safe and psychologically informed settings, and consider virtual platforms like Zoom or WhatsApp.

The findings, including participant quotes, were to be summarised in a written report by 30 June 2021 to influence the development of Birmingham's Infant Mortality Strategy.
