Supply of Wellbeing Automated Call Service (WACS) for COVID-19 Response by Hampshire County Council
Awarded 26 Apr 2020
About
Hampshire County Council awarded a contract to PA Consulting (UK) Limited for the provision of a Wellbeing Automated Call Service (WACS) as part of its COVID-19 response.
The WACS solution is an automated service that makes multiple phone calls to named individuals, confirms their identity, and asks questions to determine the most appropriate access route to Council services.
The service aimed to reduce the requirement for the Council's Welfare Support Team (tier 2) to make thousands of calls to individuals who had registered on the government website as extremely vulnerable and requiring support.
Additionally, the WACS project aimed to contact people listed on the NHS Shielding List for whom the Council did not have an email or mobile number, enabling communication where mass messaging was not possible.
The contract value was £32,000.
