About

The Department for Education awarded a contract to IFF Research for a study of children joining family in England under the Dublin III Regulation.

The research aimed to develop a clear picture of the experience, needs, and outcomes of children transferred to England to date to join family or relatives, and to understand the challenges facing local authorities supporting them.

The study employed a multi-method approach: a feasibility study to understand the type and quality of information held by local authorities; quantitative data collection from local authorities to build an up-to-date picture of children transferred since January 2016; and qualitative case studies with local authorities to gain in-depth evidence.

The contract value was £139,792.
