Award of Business Support Service to UMi Commercial Limited by BEIS
Awarded 01 Jan 2024
About
BEIS awarded a contract to UMi Commercial Limited for the provision of a Business Support Service, tendered as the 'Business Information Service 2024'.
The service provides information, advice, guidance, and signposting for businesses in England, including pre-start-ups, replacing the existing Business Support Helpline.
It offers bespoke, unscripted advice via telephone, email, webchat, social media, and other messaging services (excluding face-to-face) on topics such as starting a business, accessing finance, and business planning.
The service maintains a database of business support information for use by its advisers and other users, such as Growth Hubs.
It is demand-led, with capacity for at least 50,000 inbound contacts and 10,000 in-depth appointments annually, and can rapidly scale up at extra cost in response to economic shocks.
The service operates within standard hours with a robust process for out-of-hours contacts.
The contract value is £7,500,000.
