Historic Royal Palaces is seeking organisations to deliver live costumed interpretation and site-specific theatrical performance services across its six sites — HM Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace State Apartments, the Banqueting House, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle and Gardens. HRP intends to establish a Framework Agreement and appoint up to four organisations to provide short (9–18 days) and long (30+ days) productions of site-specific live interpretation and theatrical performance, including short family-friendly productions that may incorporate other art forms such as music, musicals or dance. Successful suppliers should embrace a participatory approach, prioritise inclusive practice, understand that audiences may not be regular theatre-goers, recognise both the limitations and opportunities of historic performance spaces, and be able to scale up activity when required; subcontracting is permitted with HRP agreement, while tenders from agencies and consortiums are excluded. This tender is for live costumed interpretation (not language interpretation); all Procurement Specific Questionnaires (PSQs) must be received by HRP by 12 August 2026 at 12:00 noon, the anticipated agreement start date is April 2027, and the framework period is three years with an option to extend for an additional two years (1 + 1). Tender documents will be made available via HRP’s e‑tendering system to suppliers successful at the PSQ stage.
