Review of Sewer Capacity Modelling and Technical Support for Ofwat

About

Water Services Regulation Authority (Ofwat) awarded a contract to Richard Allitt Associates Ltd for reviewing sewer capacity modelling previously undertaken by a wastewater company to determine whether the approach aligned with internal guidance and industry practices.

The review included assessing the reasonableness of modelling parameters, the suitability of the modelling scope, and confirming original results by remodelling available capacity.

The supplier also reviewed the wastewater company's approach to determining expected peak flows from a new development.

If concerns were identified, the supplier was to provide a view on a reasonable approach and use the wastewater company's sewer model to assess available capacity.

The contract required the supplier to enter into a confidentiality agreement to receive commercially sensitive information, including the initial capacity assessment, model verification report, internal guidance, and standards.

The contract value was AUD 7,926.
