About

Warwickshire County Council awarded a contract to Volunteering Matters for the recruitment of Warwickshire residents to volunteer as Health Champions in their local area.

The service coordinates training and provides ongoing support for the volunteers.

Training is delivered by Warwickshire County Council Learning and Development team.

Health Champions promote health literacy and encourage behaviour change to improve the health and wellbeing of people aged 18+ within Warwickshire, with a focus on COVID-19 prevention and prehabilitation messages.

The programme targets Nuneaton, Bedworth, North Warwickshire and Stratford-on-Avon, areas considered most at risk due to higher prevalence of COVID-19, higher levels of deprivation and health inequalities.

The contract value is £68,000.
