Liverpool City Council awarded a contract to Local Solutions for the provision of an Independent Domestic Violence Adviser Service (IDVA) to all high-risk MARAC domestic violence/abuse victims in Liverpool.

The service operates within a Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) framework outlined by Safe Lives, where information is shared among local police, health, child protection, housing practitioners, IDVAs, probation, and other specialists to develop coordinated action plans for victim safety.

The IDVA Service received almost 2,000 referrals in 2020-21, with over 1,250 clients accepting support.

The provider adopts a whole family approach to risk management, supporting Police Operations including Domestic Violence Prevention Orders (DVPOs), Domestic Violence Prevention Notices (DVPNs), the Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme (Claire's Law), and participates in DVIOM processes.

The contract value is £4,410,000.
