The Police and Crime Commissioner for North Wales Police & North Wales Police awarded a contract to Domestic Abuse Safety Unit North Wales (DASU) for the provision of Independent Domestic Violence Advisory (IDVA) services across the North Wales Police force area.

The contract, valued at £5,513,482, covers a single IDVA service where advisors work with individuals at high risk of domestic abuse from intimate partners, ex-partners, and family members to secure their safety and that of their children.

IDVAs act as the primary point of contact, assessing risk, reviewing options, and developing and implementing safety plans from the point of crisis through to longer-term solutions.

The service aims to increase safety, reduce long-term impact on victims, improve outcomes, and adopt a whole family approach to risk management in partnership with relevant organisations.

The Commissioner led the commissioning on behalf of the Police and Crime Commissioner for North Wales, the Violence Against Women and Girls and Sexual Violence (VAWDASV) Regional Team, and local authority partners.

The tender comprised four lots: Western (Anglesey and Gwynedd), Central (Conwy and Denbighshire), Eastern (Flintshire and Wrexham), and All North Wales Police Force Areas (the six North Wales Counties).
