About

Defra Network eTendering Portal awarded a contract to University of Bristol, Bristol Veterinary School, Faculty of Hea, University of Reading, and University of Sussex for a research project assessing challenges, innovations, and solutions for a climate-smart dairy system in the UK.

The project aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from dairy production, which is a significant contributor to global emissions, and support the UK's climate-neutral ambition by 2050.

Using a multi-actor, multi-disciplinary approach, the project will explore interconnections and consequences of climate-smart innovations, co-design innovations with stakeholders, evaluate consumer perceptions and willingness to pay, survey farmers on adoption levels and constraints, and conclude with stakeholder discussions to co-create acceptable solutions from farm to fork.

The contract value is AUD 166,889.
