About

Walsall Council e-Tendering awarded a contract to Black Country Together C.I.C for the delivery of 'Walsall Imagining Spaces', a creative commissioning programme funded by The Commonwealth Games Legacy Enhancement Fund (CWGLEF) Cultural Pillar.

The programme aimed to support projects working with new and underrepresented communities and parts of the borough that might not always receive investment for culture.

It sought to enhance opportunities to experience and participate in cultural and creative arts, with creative organisations invited to propose imaginative projects reaching Walsall's diverse communities.

Delivery involved commissioning a cultural sector partner to resource three key strands: temporary public art commissions in prime locations, cultural events focused on enhancing the town centre market offer, and broader cultural activities through a capacity building and competitive grants programme.

The approach aimed to engage communities through established networks, including Walsall Cultural Compact, and to evaluate learning for future public art approaches.
