Kirklees Council awarded a contract to Third Sector Leaders for the coordination and oversight of Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) funding, consultancy and support for local community mass testing and engagement via a small grants programme, and project management and business support to coordinate activities under the Community Champions scheme.

The scheme was established following the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government's announcement on 22 October 2020 to provide up to £25 million to support communities disproportionately affected by COVID-19.

Kirklees was identified as an area with diverse communities and complex needs.

The contract value is £50,000.
