About
The Department for Education awarded a contract to Achieving for Children (AfC) for the appointment of Commissioners to deliver intervention and improvement support in four local authorities—London Borough of Barnet, Kirklees Council, Reading Borough Council, and Worcestershire County Council—where Ofsted found systemic or persistent failure in children's services.
The contract, valued at £73,728, supports the Department's presumption that improvement is best achieved by removing the service from council control.
