Nottingham City Council is seeking accredited alternative education providers to join its provider directory and be commissioned to deliver alternative education for vulnerable children and young people across Nottingham City and surrounding areas, including those permanently excluded from school or without a school place. Providers must have experience delivering good quality alternative education to vulnerable young people and, where applicable, be relevantly registered with the Department for Education; provision is sought for Key Stages 2, 3 and 4 with strong links to post-16. The council intends to ensure higher accountability, consistent transparent processes and collaborative working across schools, academies and alternative providers; providers who meet the DfE threshold for independent school registration must notify the local authority and must not accept further alternative provision placements. Further documents are available at https://www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/APAccreditation and queries can be sent to [email protected].
