About

Diamond Light Source is seeking a supplier for the design, manufacture, testing and delivery of one complete turn-key permanent magnet multipole wiggler (MPW) for the K14 installation as part of the Diamond-II upgrade at Harwell Science & Innovation Campus. The scope includes the MPW with support stand and positioning system, one lifting frame for crane handling, and all necessary drawings and documentation so the insertion device can be operated and maintained without ongoing supplier support. The MPW specification calls for a 116 mm period length with 6.5 periods (13 full poles), a minimum physical gap of 14 mm and optimization of the gap for a 1.3 T peak field. See the specification for further details.
