Tender: Supply of Liquid Scintillation Counters and Sample Oxidizer for Tritium Analysis – THALIA & LIBRTI (UKAEA)

About

UKAEA is seeking a supplier for liquid scintillation counting (LSC) instrumentation and associated sample preparation equipment to support the THALIA and LIBRTI projects for tritium analysis. For the THALIA project, equipment will support work on tritium accountancy in molten breeder material matrices across dedicated areas including molten breeder handling (with tritium dosing), preparation (weighing and formulating, including impurity dosing), sample collection and cooling, and wet chemistry sample preparation and darkening prior to LSC analysis. For the LIBRTI facility, the procurement will establish LSC capability to analyse purge gases and breeder materials (solid, liquid and molten salts), support training of personnel at the neutron facility, and include a sample oxidizer for preparing solid samples that cannot be directly processed before conversion into a suitable LSC cocktail and analysis.
