Queen’s University of Belfast is seeking a supplier for the design, fabrication, delivery (unloaded and positioned at the point of use), installation, commissioning and warranty of an electrically insulated raceway tank and a three-holding tank system to be situated outdoors at the Queen’s Marine Laboratory in Portaferry. The raceway must fit on a concrete platform and be no much larger than 9 x 2.5 m, and the holding tanks must be circular with a 2 m diameter. The system will support experimental work measuring the effects of electrical fields on elasmobranchs and must meet biological and electromagnetic shielding specifications required by the ELASMO project. The procurement aims to deliver secure housing for long-term maintenance of OSPAR-listed elasmobranch species, a research-ready system compliant with electrical insulation standards for sensitive electrophysiology experiments, and fulfil a DAERA-funded project infrastructure deliverable; the system must be delivered and commissioned before 01 April 2026.
