The Future Medicines Institute is seeking a supplier for a high-performance Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) system for real-time, label-free analysis of biomolecular interactions to support protein science and drug discovery workflows. The required system must deliver precise kinetic and affinity measurements for protein–protein, protein–antibody and protein–small molecule binding, provide high sensitivity and reproducibility, support automation and high-throughput screening, include robust data analysis software for kinetic modelling, offer versatile assay configurations and immobilisation chemistries, and integrate with upstream and downstream workflows including protein purification and structural analysis. The maximum budget for the equipment, inclusive of a 3-year extended warranty and annual preventative maintenance, is £330,000. The contract execution is solely dependent on grant funding expected to be confirmed in November 2025; no award or orders will be made until funding is confirmed and, if funding is not secured, the procurement will be stood down and the market notified.
