The University of Birmingham is seeking a supplier for the supply and installation of an Asymmetric Flow Field-Flow Fractionation (AF4) system with integrated ultraviolet-visible (UV/Vis) and differential refractive index (dRI) detectors, Multi-Angle Light Scattering (MALS) and online Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) capability, and a fraction collector. The system will support the ERC-funded HORDE project led by Dr Stephen Fielden to separate and characterise nanoemulsion droplets (including studies of Ostwald ripening) by providing size-based fractionation and direct measurement of droplet size distributions via integrated MALS and DLS, with semi-preparative fraction collection for follow-up analysis by NMR, HPLC, TEM and SEC. The equipment must be robust, modular, suitable for integration into the School of Chemistry materials characterisation facility, include a single PC-based controller for automated instrument control and data collection, and have a user-friendly, easy-to-clean and reliable interface.
