Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council is seeking suitably experienced and qualified contractors to carry out Phase 1 river restoration works on the Lough More Catchment south east of Augher village in County Tyrone. The Council, as a partner on the CALM Project with East Border Region (EBR), Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute, Inland Fisheries Ireland, the Loughs Agency and Ulster University, aims to address excess nutrient load in watercourses that causes water pollution and loss of biodiversity; the required works include construction for water projects, erection of fencing and related agricultural and forestry services. This opportunity is advertised as an open/competitive UK public contract under an Open/Competitive Flexible procedure.

This could be valuable for contractors experienced in river restoration, water-project construction, fencing and agricultural/forestry works, especially those with prior environmental or catchment experience. Key considerations include delivering measures that reduce excess nutrient loads and biodiversity impacts, working in a rural catchment area south east of Augher in County Tyrone, and responding to an open UK public procurement process.
