Ross-on-Wye Town Council is seeking an organiser for its well-established annual 'Bands in the Park' summer concert series at the Bandstand, Wye Street (Caroline Symonds Gardens), to arrange music for Sunday afternoon concerts from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. The organiser will be contracted for a three-year period (contract term 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2029) to deliver concerts each Sunday from 16 May to 5 September starting in 2027, comprising 19 performances across 17 weekends (with three performers at the 'Proms in the Park' event). Applicants must submit an expression of interest and an annual quote to cover all costs, including payments to bands/musicians. Responsibilities include arriving by 1pm to unlock and set up the bandstand and chairs (chairs provided by the Council), putting up parking signs, welcoming bands, and securing/locking up and tidying after each concert; traffic management must be considered and included in the risk assessment. The Council will provide chairs and handle event advertising, and the Committee will consider refreshments and weekly charity collections. The provisional 'Proms in the Park' one-off event on Sunday 18 July 2027 runs approximately 1:30pm to 7:00pm and requires three differing types of bands/groups, including one brass band (top section class if possible).
