Tender: Haigh Woodland Park High Ropes Course — Expression of Interest for Long-Term Investment and Operation Partnership
Released 29 days ago
About
Wigan Council’s Be Well (the council’s in-house Leisure & Wellbeing service) is seeking partners to invest in, maintain and operate the Haigh Woodland Park high ropes course under a long-term partnership arrangement. The course at Haigh Woodland Park in Wigan (Greater Manchester) includes a low course with 9 obstacles, a high ropes course with 11 obstacles including a 40 m zip line, a tower suitable for team-building activities and a recently added jump bag, and forms part of the wider Be Well Outdoor offer alongside Scotman’s Flash and Low Bank Ground. Haigh Woodland Park is undergoing a major transformation supported by Heritage Lottery and Levelling Up funding totaling over £50 million, with current visitor numbers exceeding 500,000 per year; future development of the ropes product will need coordination with the wider site masterplan and woodland management to remain sensitive to the historic landscape. Be Well invites informal expressions of interest by email to [email protected]; responses should include company name, registration number and address, main contact details, brief details of any sites operated and a summary of interest and must be received by close of play on Friday 23rd October 2026.
