The National Trust is seeking a supplier for the design, supply and fit-out of new interpretation in Saltram mansion, part of the Future Saltram: Access to Nature & Heritage Package funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Interpretation is required for two historic rooms (87 sqm) at the core of the mansion, newly opened liminal circulation spaces as part of an equitable visitor route, and other select parts of the house; the supplier must work with the Project Team and other contractors, and discharge pre-commencement planning and Listed Building Consent conditions relevant to the works. The Request for Information stage closes by 12 June, a shortlisted Request for Proposal will follow to select a partner for contract commencement in August 2026, with fit-out expected to start April 2027 and practical completion and public opening in June 2027; Saltram Estate is in Plympton, Plymouth, Devon PL7 1UH.

This opportunity could suit specialist interpretation design and heritage fit-out firms with proven experience on historic houses and the capacity to manage coordination with project teams and contractors. Key considerations include meeting the stated programme milestones, delivering inclusive, accessible interpretation within the 87 sqm historic rooms and adjacent circulation spaces, and discharging pre-commencement planning and Listed Building Consent conditions while interfacing with broader building works for the new visitor route.
