The Authority is seeking a supplier to deliver the Night Safety Marshal Scheme in Brighton from 01/04/2027 to 31/03/2028, with an option to extend for two further 12-month periods. The successful supplier must deploy Security Industry Authority (SIA) accredited door supervisor marshals—8 marshals in each high-harm hyperlocal area identified by Sussex Police during peak hours (20:00–04:00), with a minimum of 2 female marshals among each group; the supplier itself does not have to be SIA approved but all deployed marshals must hold valid SIA Door Supervisor Accreditation. Marshals will identify and keep vulnerable individuals safe, provide early intervention to prevent serious violence and remove threats, patrol high-harm areas as directed by Sussex Police (predominantly the Brighton nighttime economy), report low-level public order incidents and gather intelligence, receive required training, be provided with required uniform and equipment, and the supplier must manage the scheme and provide management information to Sussex Police.
