About

West Northamptonshire Council awarded a contract to Aecom Limited for the update and rebuild of the Northamptonshire Strategic Transport Model (NSTM).

The contract, valued at AUD 2,305,763, was awarded under Lot 5 - Highways, Traffic and Transport of ESPO Framework 664_21.

The project involved developing a new 2023 base model, creating forecast core scenarios for 2031 and 2041, and undertaking various future-year tasks.

The updated model is intended to be a robust, TAG-compliant strategic tool for assessing changes in travel demand due to highway infrastructure, public transport provision, population, employment, and retail developments across Northamptonshire.

The scope also included proposals for data acquisition and storage, model updates and maintenance, and independent usage by the two councils.
