Supported Accommodation for Young People Aged 16-25 at Doncaster Foyer
Awarded 31 Mar 2023
About
City of Doncaster Council awarded a contract to Salvation Army Housing Association for supported accommodation services at Doncaster Foyer for young people aged 16 to 25.
The service forms part of Doncaster's Resettlement Pathway for individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness, including those with complex needs.
The accommodation is a 40-unit purpose-built Foyer-style facility in Doncaster City centre, with Salvation Army Housing Association as the Registered Housing Provider.
The provider offers a safe, supportive environment and commits to sensitive, non-judgemental, and non-oppressive support, focusing on increasing academic achievement, training, and employment opportunities to help individuals transition to sustainable independent living.
Referrals come from Doncaster's Children's social care teams, Early Help, and the Single Point of Access (SPOA), with no distinction in support provided.
The Council covers accommodation-related costs such as rent and service charge if Housing Benefit or Universal Credit is not applicable.
The provider must be an accredited member of the Foyer Federation or achieve full accreditation within 12 months of service commencement.
The contract value is AUD 1,150,223, commencing 1 April 2023 and running until 31 March 2026, with an option to extend by up to two further 12-month periods at the council's discretion.
