Supply of Digital Wireless Radio Aid Systems for Hearing-Impaired Pupils by Cheshire East Council
Awarded 15 May 2016
About
Cheshire East Council awarded a contract to Connevans Limited for the purchase of digital wireless radio aid systems to replace previous FM radio aids used by pupils with a medically diagnosed hearing loss in mainstream schools.
The systems, comprising 30 transmitters and 60 receivers, are assistive listening equipment designed to be used with personal hearing aids to alleviate background noise and reverberation in classrooms, thereby supporting optimal learning opportunities.
The Sensory Inclusion Service required these digital systems, which necessitate specialist knowledge for fitting and monitoring, and the equipment will be reused across the authority as needed.
