Supply of Active Cell Viewing System Cameras for European Spallation Source
Awarded 01 Nov 2019
About
United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority awarded a contract to ISEC Monitoring Systems AB for the supply of cameras for the Active Cell Viewing System at the European Spallation Source (ESS).
The Active Cell Facility, part of the UK's contribution to ESS managed by STFC and delivered by RACE, will use remote handling technologies to size-reduce and confine highly active parts from neutron generation.
The viewing system provides the only visual access to the windowless Active Cell for operators in the Control Room, requiring equipment that can withstand moderate to high gamma radiation doses.
The contract value was AUD 1.
