Supply of 3D Visualisation Hardware and Software for Planning Proposals to Birmingham City Council
Awarded 01 Nov 2017
About
Birmingham City Council awarded a contract to Virtalis Ltd for the provision of hardware and software to visualise planning and development proposals.
The system supports group and individual viewing of computer-generated 3D models for design, design review, and consultation activities.
Architects or developers provide 3D models to the Council, which the City Design Team views and amends.
Models are then viewed in a design room using an active-shutter stereoscopic projector and via a head-mounted display (HTC Vive) already owned by the Council.
Models are also displayed at Planning Committee using a larger stereoscopic projector.
