Supply and Installation of Two Horizontally Deflecting Double Crystal Monochromators for Beamline K11
Awarded 31 Aug 2017
About
Diamond Light Source Ltd awarded a contract to Axilon AG for the design, manufacture, supply, and installation of two identical, horizontally deflecting Double Crystal Monochromators (DCM) for use at beamline K11.
Each monochromator system includes liquid nitrogen cryogenic cooling and one crystal set, along with all motors, encoders, and limits.
The DCMs deviate from standard fixed-exit monochromators in that the exit beam offset varies with energy.
The supplier was permitted to quote the cryo-cooling unit and distribution circuit as an option, either sourced from a third party or integrated into the DCM manufacturing.
