About
The National Museum of the Royal Navy awarded a contract to The University of Southampton (representing nC2 Engineering) for a five-year call-off contract to undertake testing of candidate materials for use in the rigging of HMS Victory.
The contract supports the HMS Victory Conservation Project, which aims to deliver a fully-conserved ship able to survive in an open environment for the next 50 years without major work beyond planned maintenance.
Conservation works began in early 2022 and include replacement of all external planking, some internal elements, and progressive re-rigging.
The contract value is £112,103.
