Residential Development of 260 Homes at Former St Georges Hospital, Morpeth
Awarded 31 Mar 2022
About
Homes England (the name adopted by the Homes and Communities Agency) awarded a contract to Barratt Developments Plc for the residential development of 260 homes, including 15% affordable housing, at the former St Georges Hospital site in Morpeth, Northumberland.
Originally procured through Homes England's Development Partner Panel 3 (DPP3) in 2021/22, the contract was modified to reflect an updated timescale and an increased Gross Development Value (GDV), with the contract value adjusted to £88,200,000.
The modification also resulted in a reduction in land value due to higher costs, though the land value itself was not disclosed for commercial sensitivity reasons.
