About

University of Derby awarded a contract to A.R.G.

(Mansfield) Limited for the refurbishment of Room T012 on the ground floor of T Block at its Kedleston Road Campus in Derby.

The project involved isolating mechanical and electrical services; removing and disposing of wall and base units, kitchen appliances, worktops, sinks, a low-level stud partition wall, existing lighting, ceiling grid and tiles, floor finishes, dado trunking, an existing double door-set, side lights, and over panel.

It included installing Gypliner Universal, plasterboard and skim to walls, a new oak veneer double doorset with glazed sidelights, a new Ecophon ceiling grid and tiles, and Thorn Omega Pro LED lighting.

The scope also covered supplying, installing, commissioning, and testing an AKW specialist kitchen unit range and a Prism Medical TX200 driven hoist with H-System, along with additional electrical, mechanical, and data services, decorations, floor finishes, audio-visual installations, access control, and furniture.

In the corridor outside the room, three-tier wet laminate lockers from Prospec were supplied and installed.

An Asbestos Management Survey was included in tender documentation; while the building is considered not to contain asbestos materials, all tradesmen were to be briefed on risks and safe systems of work prior to commencement.

The contract value was £105,988.
