Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a supplier for the refurbishment and conversion of an existing room within the Ground Floor Eye Care Unit at St Helier Hospital to provide a new staff welfare facility. The works include strip-out, building fabric alterations, installation of a new fire-rated door, suspended ceilings, safety vinyl flooring, internal decorations, an enclosed kitchenette with hot and cold water supplies and drainage, electrical installations and lighting, fire stopping and all associated builders' work, making good, testing, commissioning and handover. Works will be carried out within an operational hospital environment and require management of infection prevention, dust, noise, access, service isolations and minimising disruption to surrounding clinical activities. Contractors must comply with applicable Building Regulations, NHS HTMs/HBNs, CDM Regulations and requirements associated with the building's Higher-Risk Building status. Tenderers are required to review the supplied specification, drawings and supporting information and submit a completed priced Schedule of Works, a non-scored qualitative questionnaire, an indicative construction programme and details of any qualifications, exclusions or assumptions by the published deadline.

This opportunity is suitable for contractors experienced in hospital refurbishment and familiar with NHS HTMs/HBNs and Higher-Risk Building requirements; key challenges include strict infection-control and access constraints within an operational clinical setting and the need to prepare detailed priced schedules and compliance documentation.
