Refurbishment of 25 Vacant Houses on Tunstall Street, Liverpool

About

Liverpool City Council awarded a contract to Flanagan Building & Maintenance Services Ltd for the refurbishment of 25 houses on Tunstall Street, Liverpool L7, to bring them up to a rentable standard.

The properties had been vacant for over five years and required significant internal and external works, including new roofs, windows, and doors; new level front and rear access; complete rewiring; new kitchens and bathrooms; damp-proof course and replastering; securing the rear of properties with alleyway walls and back gates; relaying rear gardens; and enhanced energy efficiency.

The works were to be delivered with minimal impact on the surrounding neighbourhood, particularly the adjacent Arch Bishop Blanch school, and were to be completed within the year.

The contract value was £2,500,000.
