Provision of Domestic Homicide Review Readers to the Home Office
Awarded 30 Sep 2022
About
Home Office awarded a contract to Quality Ethical Assessment Ltd for the provision of Domestic Homicide Review Readers.
Domestic Homicide Reviews (DHRs) were established in 2011 under Section 9 of the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004, placing a duty on local areas to consider undertaking a review where a homicide meets the criteria set out in the legislation.
This duty is undertaken by the relevant Community Safety Partnership (CSP), which must establish a review panel comprising representatives from statutory agencies and specialist services.
The purpose of a DHR is to establish what lessons are to be learned from the domestic homicide regarding the way in which local professionals and organisations work individually and together to safeguard victims.
By clearly identifying the lessons learned and setting out a plan for action to address areas for improvement and embed best practice, the DHR process helps to improve the response to domestic abuse and prevent future homicides.
The contract value is £86,600.
