About
Wyre Forest District Council awarded a contract to Charles Cartwright (t/a Cartwright Forestry) for the weeding of mature heather at Rifle Range SSSI.
The site, a Site of Special Scientific Interest between Kidderminster and Bewdley, is designated for its lowland heath habitat and suffers from encroachment by birch, oak, and broom.
The works aim to maintain the age structure of mature heather in areas where broom and birch are becoming dominant, leaving the Council with areas of mature heather in a maintainable condition.
The contract value is £18,500.
