About
Natural England awarded a contract to Lister Wilder for the purchase of a small tractor with flail suitable for woody heather and young gorse.
The tractor is intended to maintain fire breaks within lowland heathland landscapes by keeping vegetation low alongside main paths, mitigating wildfire risk.
It must operate in lowland heath environments, including wetter mire areas and light sandy soils prone to ruts, and perform mowing and mulching of woody heather and gorse regrowth for fire break and ride side management, as well as drive on the road.
The contract value is £49,882.
