About

North Northamptonshire Council awarded a contract to Ensign Site Service Ltd for the installation of an industrial-grade pond dipping platform at Sywell Country Park.

The platform, designed to enhance visitor engagement and educational activities around the amphibian pond area, features a robust steel framework constructed from Grade S355 structural steel in accordance with BS 5950:2000 and the National Structural Steelwork Specification.

Key elements include parallel flange channels (200x90x29.7 mm), square hollow sections (100x100x6.3 mm and 120x120x10 mm), fully welded connections with M16 Grade 8.8 bolts, and hot-dip galvanised base plates anchored to an existing concrete base.

All steel components are shot blasted, hot-dip galvanised, and coated with a non-toxic, fish-safe epoxy finish.

The platform incorporates open grid grating panels for drainage and slip resistance, with optional GRP decking.

The contract value is £73,950.
