The Education and Training Foundation awarded a contract to Derby College for the establishment of three Centres for Excellence in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), each focusing on one of three themes: community, curriculum, and people.

The centres were designed to provide peer-to-peer support for leaders and promote the sharing of effective practice within organisations and across the broader Further Education (FE) sector.

Each centre was to be led by a leader from an Ofsted-graded 'outstanding' organisation (or 'good' provider with 'outstanding' features) to support and challenge leaders from diverse FE providers in addressing the needs of learners with SEN support needs.

The contract value was AUD 248,086.
