Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Intervention Programme in Cumbria
Awarded 31 Mar 2025
About
The Police, Fire & Crime Commissioner for Cumbria awarded a contract to Victim Support for a voluntary intervention programme targeting perpetrators of domestic violence and abuse, and those at risk of becoming perpetrators.
The preventative and early intervention programme takes a holistic approach, working with perpetrators, victims, and their families using restorative principles to prevent and reduce low to medium-level domestic abuse.
It provides structured group work, individual work, or a combination, challenging perpetrators to recognise abuse and reflect on their behaviour and its impact.
Programmes can be tailored to specific groups while delivering a flexible service model to meet complex individual needs.
The contract runs from 1 April 2025 for an initial 3 years, with options to extend for two further 12-month periods up to 31 March 2030, with a total value of £1,270,000.
