Demolition of Weston-super-Mare Police Station by Wye Valley Demolition
Awarded 01 Nov 2018
About
North Somerset Council awarded a contract to Wye Valley Demolition for the demolition of a decommissioned police station in Weston-super-Mare, built in the 1960s, including associated buildings such as prefab garages and a link building to the old law courts.
The work involved removing a six-storey main police HQ building with a ground floor link building adjoining an old Magistrate's Court, preformed concrete garages, and an underground oil tank that was removed and backfilled.
The main structure consisted of a concrete framework, cast concrete floors, and precast concrete external panels mechanically fixed to the building's framework.
The contract value was £181,850.
