About

Bedford Borough Council awarded a contract to Danfo (UK) Ltd for the construction of Changing Places Toilet facilities at two locations: a new stand-alone unit at Russell Park and an adaptation of existing space at The Higgins Art Gallery and Museum.

The project was funded by a grant from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, following an expressions of interest process in July 2021.

The facilities are designed to be fully accessible, providing sufficient space and equipment for people who cannot use the toilet independently, and must meet specific specifications and be registered with the Changing Places UK Consortium via Muscular Dystrophy UK.

The contract value is £134,000.
