Birmingham City Council awarded a contract to Welfare Call for the collection of attendance data for Children in Care (CiC) to support the Birmingham Virtual School (Children In Care Education Service - CiCES), which supports over 1,860 CiC across educational settings from Early Years to Post 16.

The Virtual School's three teams (North and Central, East, and South) work with educational settings across Birmingham and other local authorities, with around 65% of cohorts within the city, alongside social workers, Independent Review Officers, Educational Psychologists, Care Leavers Service, Early Years Team, and Designated Teachers.

The focus is on improving life chances by ensuring attendance, engagement, and success in education.
