Birmingham City Council awarded a contract to Age Concern Birmingham, Birmingham Settlement, Disability Resource Centre, and Witton Lodge Community Association for Neighbourhood Network Schemes.

The contract, valued at £360,000, aimed to establish locality and constituency-based networks to engage with and invest in community assets, supporting older people to connect to individuals, groups, organisations, activities, services, and places in their neighbourhoods.

This approach was integral to the new community social work model and the overall investment by Adult Social Care & Health in 'Prevention First'.

The contract was divided into eight geographical lots based on constituencies: Edgbaston, Erdington, Hall Green, Hodge Hill, Ladywood, Northfield, Sutton, and Yardley.

The contract duration was 2 years with an option to extend for up to an additional 12 months subject to requirements and satisfactory performance.
