West Midlands Combined Authority awarded a contract to United By Birmingham 2022 Legacy Charity for the Legacy Trailblazer Programme under the Commonwealth Games Legacy Enhancement Fund.

The contract, valued at £5,000,000, supports five projects: Critical Mass (inclusive dance for young people with disabilities), Gen22 (youth social action), Volunteering (maintaining the Commonwealth Collective), Bring the Power (schools and community-based), and one additional project.

These programmes aim to increase volunteering, social action placements, physical activity participation among disabled people and women and girls, and resilience of VCSE organisations in deprived areas.

The award follows a Voluntary Ex Ante Transparency (VEAT) notice and community consultation in 2023 that confirmed demand and trust in the charity as a neutral delivery body.
