Staffordshire County Council awarded a contract to Staffordshire Council of Voluntary Youth Services (SCVYS) for the provision of a Voluntary, Community & Social Enterprise (VCSE) Sector Strategic Capacity Building Partner.

The partnership aimed to build capacity in the local VCSE sector with a focus on prevention, early help, and local need; provide strong leadership and work with other infrastructure organisations; support the Council in co-designing commissioning strategies and community-based approaches; and help the sector become sustainable and attract additional funding into Staffordshire.

The contract covered Staffordshire excluding Stoke-on-Trent, with a framework agreement value of £4,119,700 over a total five-year call-off period, including contributions from Tamworth Borough Council and Newcastle-Under-Lyme Borough Council.
