About

Cornwall Council awarded a contract to Withdrawn Opportunity for the appointment of a main contractor to undertake renovation and alteration works at King Edward Mine Museum.

The project involved restoring and adapting the Grade II* listed Boiler House and Assay Office complex, refurbishing the Mill complex and other core museum buildings, enhancing a viewpoint, and implementing a 10-year management and maintenance programme.

The works were procured under a traditional lump sum JCT building contract with Bills of Quantities and a fully developed design, including some contractor design for specialist items, and were carried out on a live site with ongoing business occupation and seasonal museum opening.

The contract value was AUD 1.
