About
The University of East Anglia awarded a contract to Sotheby's for the acquisition of Magdalene Odundo's Untitled Vessel (1986) for the Sainsbury Centre collection.
The acquisition was approved by the Sainsbury Centre acquisitions committee and Board, following a 2019 exhibition of Odundo's work.
Funds were provided by private patrons.
A Single Action Tender was undertaken due to the rarity of Odundo's works from this period being available for sale.
